Lighthouse Academy | 2021 - 2024
As Director of Learning & Enablement, I launched the Lighthouse Academy as a B2C learning platform to support customer education, customer onboarding, and certification adjacent to aytm’s core DIY market research platform. I led a team of seven (7) learning specialists to grow the course catalog from four (4) courses to over 270 courses and one certificate program.

VetBloom | 2015 - 2021
As the Principal Product Manager, I launched VetBloom in 2016 as a B2B2C continuing education learning platform for Veterinarians. By 2021, I had grown VetBloom to the 3rd largest veterinary platform in the market, reaching over 70,000 paid users globally. In addition, I led the development of a SaaS, multi-tenancy offering for businesses to license / white-label for their own users.

As the Principal Learning Architect, I led the development of a 15-module direct-to-consumer certificate program and helped bring to market the Piano Technician Academy in 2014. The program is now the only online, on-demand certificate program endorsed by the Piano Tuners Guild and over 12,000 students have become certified and endorsed piano tuners through the PTA.

Game Based Simulation
As product manager and instructional designer for this virtual veterinary anesthesia monitoring module, I owned the product roadmap, go-to-market strategy, and instructional design for this experience. Learners are required to monitor an animal under anesthesia amidst three intraoperative complications. Learners remedy these complications by harnessing the resources in the interactive surgical suite.

Masterclass in Mindful Parenting
The Masterclass is Mindful parenting was the marquee course I developed and launched through Wired for Wellbeing. I owned the end-to-end production of the content including: videography, video editing, sound engineering, and eLearning development. I filmed this course with a Nikon d7500, a Nikon d5300, and 2 Rodes NTG2s; I edited it Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere; and I produced the learning in Articulate Rise.

Workplace Violence
This is a sample of a scenario-based, didactic module I developed for the Water Control Board of California on Workplace Violence. The intent was to blend a framed-comic-aesthetic into the the design of the module for the scenarios. I recorded the voice-over for this module with a Rode NTG2 and Behringer UCM404. The audio was edited in Adobe Audition. The final output was developed in Storyline.

AED Equipment Training
This is an example of equipment training delivered virtually using Articulate Storyline. My goal with this piece of content was deliver direct instruction out of interactions that reflect the instruction itself. As a learning developer, I tend to lean toward constructivism - whereby learners acquire knowledge by putting that knowledge to use.
-
Crash Carts
When I originally started working on this module, the SME and I wondered together how every clinical team member could unpack a crash cart without actually having to open one to explore its contents. That question resulted in the idea of giving everyone their own “pocket-sized” crash cart to explore on their own. Take a look inside to see how each of the drawers are organized.

Software Terms Review
My client was looking for a way to make a review of definitions more interesting than a “text-and-next” glossary-type interaction. So let me set the stage. The learner is caught in traffic and decides to use the time to review some important definitions that pertain to an upcoming project. Here’s the catch – every time the learner reviews a definition, traffic moves slightly. In order to keep moving the learner must review all the definitions.

Vidyo Hardware Training
One of my favorite approaches to hardware training is to create an interactive model of the device that learners can explore for themselves. This is an example of that approach was put to use. Learners were given a model of the Vidyo video-conferencing hardware, and these models served as the foundation for the instruction and training.

Accu-Check Glucose Testing
This is a custom interaction I built to help train medical personnel on the Accu-Chek Inform II device. I wanted to give our users experience using the device’s interface, so I recreated a mock device in Photoshop. The navigation through the lesson is in part the mock interface. The two primary pieces of software I used for this lesson are Photoshop and Articulate.
